Cold Air Fan

pakes

New member
Hi Guys

Just had the 3.2 serviced and MOT'ed, it passed with no major probems. Items which need some attention in the future are the exhaust system which is sufffering with corrrosion, still the original system and the cold air blower is inoperative.

Has anyone got any ideas or experience with faulty cold air blowers and where they are located in the car ?

Best Wishes

Matthew...

Mouse wheel type fan located in the box like structure mounted on the front firewall. Accessed from luggage compartment. With lack of use, bearings can sieze up, which can then burn out the motor. I seem to remember it shares a fuse with the cigarette lighter. Also the different speeds are acheived by series dropper resisters, which do have thermal protection switches but don't always work, hence the possibility of knackered motor. The resisters etc. are also located in the same place. That's about as far as my memory goes. Good luck![:)]
