cold air intake

I am sure I read about this a while ago that sounds really nice when added.
It was blue and people were on about diy jobs and replacing the air filter from some site.
cant remember much else anyone know what I am blabbering on about?
I think it was an induction or something it adds more air flow and someone said adding this to al already PSE sounds outstanding and would annoy anyone living near you, this is what I am after:)
 
Was it replacing the standard filter with an oiled mesh type, a la K&N?
You do get a bit of induction roar with them but also a tendency to fry MAFsensors it would appear!
