Cold start problem - WHAT problem?!

AT LAST !

Having played with all sorts of grungy bits, cleaning, changing, and everything else, I finally got round to changing the warm up regulator last night. Bit of a last resort, but hey, we all get round to things eventually.

2 hrs with FREEZING cold hands, but would have been much (and do I mean MUCH) less had I not kept dropping the copper washers when trying to put the damn thing back on several times.

Anyhow, got it on, got in the seat, closed my eyes and cranked her over.

The result - she purred into life with the merest twist of the key, no jumpy tickover or anything (had to reduce the idle in the end too) and then, after a (very) cold nights sleep, exactly the same again this morning?! Purrs into life if I so much as look at the key (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration).

Unbelievable feeling of hapiness, it really looks like it has been cured.

Just got to find some clear silicon sealant now to try to fix up this little tear in the spoiler fitting which allows the water to leak through into the hatch and SOAK the rear passenger side seat. Will have the heater on it again to try to dry it out, but wish it would stop leaking!!! The tear is where the thinner bit of rubber fits onto the hatch meatl, and it's only about 2cm long, but boy is it proving difficult to get a watertight repair job done.

A Happy Andy !
