Cold Starting question

Can anyone help with the following query from a member? The car is a 1981 2.0 model

Wonder if you might know the answer to this one. My wife has had a 924 for 13 years and it has always displayed this problem.

When starting from cold it will not rev or pull away until it has warmed up. Classic warm-up regulator problem of course. Replacing the regulator cures the problem BUT only for about 2 weeks. The problem then returns. Have had the regulator replaced twice with same results.

Could it be dirt in the fuel system that is causing these (expensive) failures? Apparently something similar has been found to happen on 928s.

Would welcome any thoughts and solutions.

If the engine runs okay once the car is warmed up, this may indicate that the injector seals are dodgy. Try to wiggle the injectors about at the point where they enter the engine block - if there' s a lot of movement in any of them, try replacing the seals (very cheap).

Hope this helps...
