I have just ordered a new two lever switch from PC Reading. Including vat and with members discount it works out at about £97, which compares very favourably with the advertised price from Design 911. Pre vat I think there was only pennies difference in the price, so it does pay to speak to your OPC first.

It seems that I have non-standard column switches that are trimmed in grey leather that matches the rest of the leather trim. The switches are only available in black, so now I have the tedious, nay irksome task of trying to remove the leather covering and reattaching the trim to the new swtches. Great value though a £94 all in with member's discount.

I've never seen that before, John. The original buyer must have ticked a lot of boxes on the order form. I don't know how much it was, but it was from the Exclusive range, option code CUP.

Can you take pictures? I'd love to see what that looks like.

Now that it is all done by all means I will take pics. What the instructions dont make clear is that once you have disconnected the battery and removed the air bag and wheel, you loosen the column switch clamp first via the slot underneath then ease the whole lot forward which allows unrestricted access to the two binnacle screws on the sides. To be honest, the very thin leather trim can be teased off quite easily and re-attached to the new switches using repositionable contact adhesive, there is not a stitch anywhere in sight. Heads up, lower the window a fraction so that you can close the door with no power because the window will not automatically lower itself and you run the risk of smashing the window, at least on the cab; I don't know if the coupe has the same window lowering system. Put a stop or something under the bonnet to remind you not to shut the bonnet with the battery disconnected or you will have to jerk around with the retractable contact in the fuse box and earth to the door lock loop. To my untrained eye it looks like the two lever switch not only has the mounts for obc but also cruise so I don't see why anyone would buy aything but the two lever switch, unless the supplementary switches are not available separately.

The OBC stalk, as you say, it detatchable, with 2 screws, and it has it's own separate connector. The cruise stalk is built in to the central switch unit, and can't be swapped to a different stalk. Also, the connections are internal to the central switch. And no, neither of these two are available as separate parts. []
