Come together, right now, R14!

I know that this has been attempted by braver souls than me in the recent past (with limited follow-through) but, weather permitting, how about a bit of a get together somewhere conducive for all in the not too distant future?

I'm based in Swansea/Gower and WLTM anyone with a pulse and a bit of joie de vive! (NO tyre-kickers welcome).

Come on! If Brown can stay in office this long then we should be able to pull this off!

Adrian.

(And it's no use saying that you haven't got transport - because you obviously have!)[:D]

Hi Adrian!
Well said mate and we do need to get something organised more in our region!
You look at other regions smaller than ourselves in porsche post and seem to have lots going on!
Come on guys lets get our heads together and get our region noticed!
Steve.

Hi,

I am all for this. Presently my life is consumed by finishing my MBA, dissertation final hurdle hence my inability to get to some of the meets. However, come October 3rd I will have my life back and contribute much more to this region. I bought my 911 2.5 years ago and enjoy evey minute of driving her. I have enjoyed the region events I have attended but want to commit more time to my passion.

Regards Alan.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your reply. We'll see you after you've dumped your load on your tutor's desk. [&:]

Hi Adrian,
I have tried to organise different events for the club, Quad biking last year which I had to cancel due to lack of interest, and have tried twice this year to organise go karting and only 5 porsche club members turned up! I have organised a go karting event for the 31st august and so far have had no commitment. I have also suggested having a get together at the tredegar classic car show, but yet again no response from South Wales members. There is a classic car show to be held at the Gnoll country park this sunday, So would make an ideal opportunity for us to meet up.

Hi Guys

Unfortunately my job takes me away a lot, so I find it difficult to organise being around for a lot of the events. That said, I'm hoping to be around for the PCGB trackday at Pembrey on 4th September. Any other takers?

If an event is organised and I'm around, I'll make every effort to be there. Hope to see you all sometime soon.

Best of luck, Adrian!

Cheers
Johnny

i'm up for meeting

i am already booked in for the tredegar park show. r14 should make a big play at this event inoder to drum up more support in the region.

it is probably the best show in the southern part of the uk

Gents. We don't have to meet at an official 'event'. We can just hook up somewhere at a time that's convenient to the majority. The bikers do it every weekend at the West End Cafe in Llandovery!?

From past experiences 'events' just tend to act as a distraction to people who then end up wandering off instead of chatting.

The weather this coming weekend looks pretty awful - so I'm guessing that it's going to be a non starter - for now. But this is going to happen - even if I go on my bloody own - and if I was I don't think that it would be as painful as some of the ones I've been to before. (No smiley for this, sorry!)

I'm supposed to be working all next weekend (16th /17th) but might be able to get away for a while - if the weather's good? I'm going to keep a good eye on the forecast in the meantime.

Adrian.

i'm up for a meet next weekend, as i will have hopefully got over this stinking cold .

suggested route:- cardiff-ebbw vale-mountain road to crickhowell-a40 to llandovery-mountain road to brynamman

Ok. I think that this might be a case of "If you build it they will come" - so I'm going to try and organise some sort of event. Not sure when, where or how but will start making calls today.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your replies to this post.

Adrian.

Shame none of the people so keen to meet up were able to make the regions weekend meet that was organised two weeks ago ( 13th/14th) where just TWO region members turnd up .
If people from as far away as Kent and Birmingham can make the effort............

i would join you all for a meet for sure, either in my car (golf r32, so not a porsche if thats welcome?) or dads 911turbo if hes free.
im also from gower/swasea area.

Andy

with regard to the welsh weekend, our regional organiser only sent out an e-mail on the monday of that week, which didn't even contain a starting destination. as it happens, i didn't retrieve my e-mail until friday evening, by which time there was not anyprospect of getting more event information.

Hi Peter. Weather is still pants![:(] I'll get in touch if it improves and we can do something...?!

Adrian.
