Compatibility of 958 steering wheel with 957?

I'm not keen on the multifunction steering wheel that came with my 2009 (957) Cayenne and was expecting it to be more "sporty" on a GTS. The controls down the sides are awkward and I don't like the triangular shape of the airbag.

So, I've seen some suitable replacements with a sporty grip, sensible controls, round airbag, and flatter bottom. Problem is they all come from the next era, ie 958 and Panamera equivalents.

So I guess my question is twofold:

1. Will a 958 (or other model equivalent) work with my 957? I'm pretty sure it will physically fit so the real question is will the connectors be the same and then even so will the ECU need coding for the new wheel?

2. Are there any compatible wheels from the 957 era that more meet with my needs? There must have been a wealth of wheel options from across the ranges which would "fit" in all senses.
