I didnt really believe that RMS leak would happen to my Boxster, bought new from OPC 2 years ago and well looked after and only6K miles per year, didnt even renew Porsche warranty as I was lead to believe it didnt cover RMS. Anyway two weeks ago I noticed oil on the garage floor beneath engine area. Sure enough RMS was leaking. Ignore it or speak to my OPC (Lancasters, Cambridge) where I purchased it? Gave their service department a ring- what a great response- "no problems Mr Davis we'll get that sorted out for you and put it through to Porsche to be done under goodwill !". And so it was-no charge despite car being 6 weeks out of warranty date expiration. Car is also quieter since being done - I think there must have been a loose bolt on exhaust before. So I can certainly see the benefits of buying at an OPC and having OPC service history- which they definately took into account in deciding on this goodwill gesture.
