my car has just not felt right the last few weeks - down on power, slight miss ?
So I have done the following
1 swapped all ignition parts for known good ones from friends S2 - no difference.
2 compression test - 1-180psi,2 175psi,3 180psi,4 170psi car has 180k miles and no rebuild,hg was replaced 4 years ago.
3 scope down each pot after being stood for 5 days , 1 and 2 dry not much build up on pistons , 3 and 4 more build up and looked glazed/shiny on piston tops.
4 FPR test was good 3.9bar with just pump running and 3.5 bar running at idle ,left for 20 mins no loss of pressure.
Plugs good light brown on all, doesn't burn oil , doesn't use any water.White smoke a bit on cold morning start up but clears once warmed through.Hissing noise when turn off engine a bit like trucks air brakes being released but not as loud.

any thoughts where to look next will be much apprecited.

Not sure is this helps or not but I am in the middle of stripping most of my engine BUT I have decided not to break into the head/block as all cylinders are running circa 200PSI. They are within 1 or 2 PSI of each other.
