computer related question

Guest

New member
I am a new member to the forum and notice that most people have photos of their cars under their name (especially impressed with John Bellringer's movie). I have got digital photos of my car on the computer, but how do I get to save them as part of my profile as the Jpg file size is too big?
Please reply in basic language as my computer skills aren't the best!!

Cheers

Jeddie

the picture under the login name is called an Avatar; these should be a maximum of 145 pixels wide by 145 pixels tall; the total file size should be less than 10k.
the best format is gif although jpg can be used.
once ready, you can upload the file after clicking Profile on the forum home page.
If you do not have the software to make an avatar, email me your jpg images and I will convert one for you.

Thank you.

The original was 'borrowed' from the web, and, with a bit of free software I had lying around (also from the web), I trimmed it to fit the max size allowed.

It is, in fact, what is called an 'animated gif' (lots of images run together).
Always willing to help (especially if you plan to be complementary about me !)

Thanks for your offer of help with photo and avatars (whatever they are). Please let me have your e-mail address and I'll get a photo off to you.
I have tried reducing a photo in pixel size and uploading it and was told upload successful, so don't know if it's worked or not? Can't see photo when I post message, so guess not.
Look forward to hearing from you soon
