Condensation around the windows?

Sylvian

When I wash the car there is condensation behind the side windows all the way around and the felt material is damp, I also get it after driving in heavy rain. Is this normal?

If you use hot water to wash the car you will get misting and condesation on the inside of the windows, only use cold water.
In rain the air is naturally humid and your exhaled breath is warm and humid too - so when that humidity contacts the windows it will mist up, the answer is to have the air con on - all the time.
With climate control not only will it cool the cabin but holds the temperature it is set to, the air con dehumidifies the cabin and prevents the misting, driving with the window open a tiny bit aids air flow and removes the warmer humid air and prevents fogging

I still get it with a straight cold water hose when the car has not been driven, so its not always a case of temperature differences.

This started when my roof was adjusted back, am I right in saying that the roof being brought forward would help as the roof seals tighter to the glass the further forward it is?

I'm not sure that the other responders have this initial query right in their minds (or of course it could just be me!). I think Sylvian might be referring to edge condensation round the front and top of the drop glass, just in a narrow margin in the area of the seal. If so, I get it off and on with my 987 but it goes and doesn't seem to cause any real issues, no water ingress, its just a bit of condensation in the seal area. The boxster roof is a really exceptional "tent" in my experience. I get more trouble from the door of my relatively new Peugeot 407SW and there is stuff-all excuse for that!
