Cone Air Filter Question

I currently have an ESS cone filter that is bolted straight onto the AFM - Have noticed that some folk have performance filters along with a connector tube (for want of a more technical term) so that the the filter itself is across near the wing. I can't for the life of me track down who supplies these things - can anyone please point me in the right direction ?

Is there a noticeable advantage to this arrangement ?

Those that have a filter down beind the N/S headlamp have generally replaced their AFM with a MAF or MAP sensor and the replacement 'J pipe' comes in the respective kit.

If you wanted a filter down their with the standard AFM you would need to do a fair bit of repositioning but it could be done with silicon hoses and metal pipes from somewhere like http://www.performancesiliconehoses.com/

Strictly speaking your current filter setup could be drawing in warm air from the engine/radiator/intercooler but the consensus seems to be that once moving it will get enough cool air

IIRC Speed Force Racing did a system that retained the air flow meter - but then who would want to retain an air flow meter? [;)]
