Cone filter on an s2

Hi,

I have a cone filter I was going to fit to my s2 but I am wondering..would I need some sort of 90 degree/45 degree bend pipe attached first to get it to fit underneath the front panel ? or will it just fit on the way the standard air box does and still fit inside there ok ? I have not removed the front panel so I dont know what way the piping goes.

Thanks.

Does rather depend on the size of the filter..I'd recommend removing the standard air-box, and fitting the cone under the front panel. Otherwise you'll find there's not a lot of room to put the filter, where it will get cool air. I resorted to removing one of pop-up headlight "A" brackets, and using a 90 degree pipe to get the filter just behind the horn, in front and above of the left front wheel.

I used a 45 degree 'J' pipe from SAR Classics so it would fit beneath the badge panel, in my experience it's important that this pipe is as long as possible otherwise you lose torque (both subjectively and on the dyno).
