Just got back from the Historic Racing at Oulton Park where Paul got a Podium finish.

Congratulations Paul, nice work, just as well you scrubbed the tyres in last week!

Steve, do you know what cars the other guys on the podium were driving?

Great pics Steve, you need to resize them to 6 x 4 inches at 150 dpi ... if you have the software [;)]

P.S. How could I forget to say, well done Paul [:D][:D][:D]

Hi Guys
Thanks for the support etc, great day out,up at 6.15,qualifying at 8.30.Q 4th on grid with not such a great qualifying session, cars in front were the Morgan which won,380bhp 900kg,mark my friend was 2nd in a rsr spec 911 and third on the grid was a very quick escort 300bhp 800KG!,all on slicks.Rolling start, the two fords, escort and a cologne capri started the race before the start line!,had to get back by them, by which time mark in the other rsr was away, and only a 30 min race to try and claw back.Got fastest lap though which helped, trying to play catch up.
The wsm 45 min race,Q pole for class with a clear second over the corvette 540bhp and around the same weight as my car, vette got me down lake side but spun,so took the advantage and came in first in class and mark in the other porsche 2nd,great day.
Yes Paul the rs day fiddling was worth the effort[;)]
I will see if i can get my son to put some footage up at some point.

I am surprised the Moggie weighs in at 900kg, honestly thought it could be 100-150kg less than that..........my ali bodied tuned 4 cyl version is certainly well under 900kg!

Hi Paul
The mogy owner was the mogy something champ for a few years,i suspect you are correct on the weight,as it out qualified us by 2 secs, our problem is that we have to run fia spec cars for the world sports car series race that we raced in later, the cars get checked over fairly thoroughly especially when abroad.
The 2 Porsches are pretty much spot on for the fia specs unlike the rest of the field,no excuses though[:D]
The Capri is quick and very light also.
Thanks for the photos Steve.
Some good footage on utube of some right noisy cars.
Next race is in Barcelona on the catalunya circuit, catalunya classic Festival april 8-10.

Hi
Some footage from oulton on you tube, early and later part of the vid shows the porsches, turn the volume up.

Hi Paul, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to Mark yesterday at the Donington historic. His car looked majestic in qualifying and he put it on Pole for the last race of the day. It was a truly fabulous sight watching it blasting down the straight and gliding through Redgate [:)]. However, for some reason (I don't know why) he and some of the CSLs never appeared on the grid for the race. Anyhow, here's a few pics of the car in the paddock:
