Car was only blowing hot from the heater yesterday i suspect the infamous clip has broken, anyone know the part number ? and where exactly is it ?

Cheers Jim.

It's by the right side of the glovebox, you should be able to change it without removing the glovebox, but it does make life a lot easier. I can't recall the part number, but I'm sure a search will bring it up.

Thanks Pete,
Search has now thrown up the part number, now off to retension my balance belt, oh and sort the bonnet release.....old porkers keep you busy !

Hi all. My 944S2 only gives cold air. What is this infamous clip and could it have failed and give cold air only.
BTW when I adjust the temp knob with the engine off and ignition on, there is a noise showing thats not failed.
I presume this is where my problem lies?

This write up covers it well, in many cases it defaults to the hot position (apparently so that during a cold German winter the occupants don't freeze), but on my 944S I have the option of completely cold or hot but nothing in between. The adjustment motor will still be running even without the clip connected, so you may have a broken clip, stick your head under the dash, adjust the heater control and you'll see what does and doesn't move.

Mine turned out to be the one way vacumn valve disconnected (the black/blue one adjacent the bulkhead)
Jim.
