Conti N2's

I need a new Conti N2 for the rear of my 993 and can't find one despite extensive search. They are on back order due 30th April. All advice is to fit a complete set from another manufacturer but this seems such a waste of money when all of the others have at least 5-6 mm left. Has anyone else any advice. Thanks

Have you tried looking for a good used one.some thing like this

Thanks Colin. I did consider used but have never done so before and I am a bit wary.

I guess they could have come from a similar situation that I am in. Perhaps I could sell mine.

I'm in the same boat John. Looking at changing back from my winter tyres soon and phoned my usual supplier to order a couple of rears only to be told they're on back order. Annoyingly this isn't the first time it's happened to me with Contis. He didn't have a date for the production run but if your date of 6 April is right I can't wait that long and will need to consider options.

On the plus side I have a part worn one in my basement you can have if you want to arrange collection John. I think there's around 4mm of tread left and would at least get you by untill the new stock is in. It's never been repaired and has even wear across the tread. The drawback is I'm in central Scotland.

That is really kind of you Clyde but I can't get to you.

My local tyre supplier has said they could do a deal on 4 new Bridgestone S02A N4's that are approved for the 993 for £547.94 all in which seems a real good deal.

I will have one last go tomorrow to try and source a Conti otherwise its Bridgestones.

Thanks again.

There is a company in Chichester called the Tread shop that specialise in used performance tyres. I have not used them (although I have been to have a look) but some guys on the 968 board have.

They have quite a good menu system and you may pick up a tyre that will get you through to the end of April.

pneus online might be worth a try. They seem to have stock of some tyres that others don't have and they have been reliable for the four or more orders I've placed with them.

John,

Ive run the Bridgestones for 10 years ( no not the same set) and I cant complain about their ability!

Thanks everyone for their help and suggestions. Bought the Bridgestones today - £519 for the set from Micheldever Tyres near Winchester.

Odd. I just bought a couple of Conti Sport Contact 2s through Blackcircles with no problem for the rear of my 993.
