Conti Sport Contacts

In case it helps anyone else with tyre decisions, I've just replaced all four of my tyres with the Contis and what a difference! No chance to test grip yet but the main difference is how much more quiet they are. Camtune had suggested switching because they made a lot of noise - and it was true. Following various bits of research, I'm hoping the Contis will wear slowly too.

Anticipating your questions...
- I was on Pirelli P-Zeros beforehand
- I paid £530 for the Contis from Micheldever. They were fitted on Thu. I arrived at 12 and the queue was huge so it took a couple of hours - is that place ever quiet?!?

Answer - no. Last time I arrived on a Saturday morning half an hour before the gates opened and the queue was already way back beyond the station.

I've always used sportcontacts on my C4, switching from sportcontacts to sportcontact 2s when they came out a few years back, so have no idea how the car handles on anything else. But I must say that I've always been very impressed with their wet handling and wear rate. I'm a great believer in the old adage "if it aint broke, don't fix it", so have never tried other tyres, despite reading some apparantly good reviews. I would hate to fork out around £500 for a set only to find that for one reason or another they were not as good as the Conti's.
I must say, though, they don't handle well in the wet when they're close to the wear indicators [:D]

I use Mitcheldever too and have Contis on mine which are imho an excellent compromise between grip and long life. I queued for ages as well.
