Convertible hard roof

Hi all.
I have just purchased a 996 Carrera 2 2002 cabriolet complete with a removable hard roof. Can anybody tell me if a winch type device is available to lift the hard roof into the loft of my garage, and if so has anyone got one they want to sell.
Regards, Dave.

Hi Dave,

This part of the forum is for help with the website itself - not so many people look in here.. You might want to re-post in the 996 forum.

I've not come across such a device, and use an improvised piece of kit for mine to do the same job. There are however stands to sit them on vertically (always some on Ebay), but they still take up a fir bit of space.

I have seen one for sale on here or Pistonheads for £100 sounds a bargain, check out items for sale Andy

I tried to buy the one on here but after negotiating with the seller all went quiet. No idea what happened and I still have no hoist!

i use the stand for my hardtop and have to say i don' think it takes up too much room - maybe about 12 inches deep when pushed against the wall and my husband and i can lift it into place both on and off the stand wihtout too much trouble. If thats any help

I have an Easyhoist surplusb to requirements also . I am not sure if Tony's is a manual or electric lift. Mine is electric. I also have a very basic system with pulleys , cant remember who manufactured it but bought it in the USA.

I am in Barnet and if you are interested you would need to collect it.

PS I thought I had put something already on this thread a few days ago - ugh those gremlins again.
