convertible roof will not close

Has anybody else had issues with their roof not closing???.... on a 2010 plate Boxster S 987 27k miles

Without any warning signs........my roof will not close?. I actuate the switch by the handbrake, the display says convertible roof closing............but just a deathly silence, no straining motors etc....absolutely nothing.

All fuses have been checked and are all okay and A lap top check by Autostrasse failed to detect any issues with switches etc.????

2 main dealerships as well as Autostrasse say this is very 'rare' and cannot recall it happening before?

Driving about with my roof open is not good with winter approaching!!......anybody out there have similar issues or ideas?

Sorry if this is too obvious to ask, but is it still under warranty? Even if not, it must be just out of warranty, so why not leave it with your OPC to sort out, under goodwill, whilst you have a loan car?

An OPC saying they have not seen this before and sending you on your way is a ridiculous answer.

HI .........car is just out of warranty.........as is always the case.

To be fair to the OPC i was some hundreds of miles away on the telephone to them. They did try to be helpful, but over the phone diagnostics are never easy. I guess i will take car to OPC.........maybe drive a new Cayman S for a day or so ....which will offset the shock of many hundreds ££££ bill no doubt!

I will post the outcome
