Coolant circuit

hi to all members

I have a small question regarding the coolant circuit
I have a 2012 , 991 2C a very small 36000 miles.
i have done 1500 miles since i got it, last year
but i noticed one point
after 500 miles i add 0.5l of coolant liquid Power cool 180 from Evans 2/3 months ago and I checked today still a little bit missing.
I did not have on previous car to add 0.5l every 1000 miles even on my R5 turbo driving certainly more on limit than my porsche

i noticed temperatures can be around 100 degrees
I cannot see any external leaks
Question
is this a normal fact on porsche 3.4l engines or is there some porosity i have to investigate
thanks for your comments
it is not very dramatic , but just irritate my mechanical side
stay safe

I have a 2014 991 C2 and have never had to add coolant to it between services.
Perhaps someone else here more knowledgeable knows if this is likely to have a particular cause - other than a straightforward leak somewhere.

thank Richard ( it is what I think)
drove car to Porsche Nottigham
service was today so
they kept it for test after telling me they found nothing ?????? on coolant circuit
that drive me nuts generally coolant temp is between 85/90 degrees , no reason for going over 105 except in case of air bubbles

let see what they find
thanks for your input

Jacques,

If you’re having to add coolant again I’m sure that there’s an underlying problem, despite the fact that your Centre can’t find anything wrong. Hopefully they carried out a pressure test to check for external leaks and bled the system?

Presumably there are no telltale puddles of coolant on your garage floor, but there’s always the possibility that coolant is weeping out somewhere and evaporates immediately when the engine’s hot. Check the filler cap and expansion tank carefully; you may even want to change the filler cap as a precautionary measure since it’s a very common source of leakage. The crossover pipe connections in the front wheel arches are also common leakage points, especially on older cars, although your Centre should have checked them as a matter of course.

A coolant temperature of 100deg C sounds rather high to me [my Cayman with a similar engine normally runs at 80deg C], although the gauge readings are just ‘indicative’ and your gauge could just be reading a little high and presumably you haven’t received a coolant temperature warning message.
