Coolant leak

I have a reoccuring coolant leak at the front of the car on the offside. [:(]
When pressure tested, I found it at the joint between the rubber hose under the FOS wheel arch at the joint with the long aluminium tube from the rear.

Does anyone know whether this is a common point for leak due to pourosity or whether I have just been unlucky and this is a relatively unknown issue.

I have stripped and inspected the hose and pipe but cannot see any signs of damage, wear or delamination of the hose and the clip is new and fully tightened.

Just curious that if this is common, whether to look for a better fix than replacing like for like or whether just to replace the pipe and hose and get on with life.

Cheers
Dave

I had the same problem with the rubber hose going into the thermostat housing. No matter if I moved the spring clip or the hose to ensure it seated properly, it had the odd drip emerging from the joint when the car was running. As I had just filled the cooling system with fresh coolant I was reluctant to spend more on coolant again so I just moved the original spring clip and used a stainless steel jubilee clip with good success. I didn't remove the hose but unscrewed the jubilee clip the whole way then separated it enough to put over the hose then tightened it. It is probably the old hose hardening with age and not seating properly. I guess the proper way would be to remove the hose and replacing it.
