Coolant question

I'm told any coolant compatible with aluminum blocks is A-OK. Given that aluminum engines have been around so long its probably hard to find a coolant that isn't.

Very quick question, probably asked 1000 times before!

What type of coolant (brand etc) should I be putting into my 89 944turbo?. Manual just refers to main dealer.

Thank you.

Hi guys, Thanks for your replies. Comma G48 it is then. First item to do is fix the leak!! She's leaking coolant directly under the air filter (or directly over the drivers side fan. Will have to strip to get a closer look. Hope it's a hose rather than a metal joint!! E

Hi guys.

Thanks for your replies. Found a supplier for comma xstream g48. Reading the instructions on the coolant, I assume I can dilute it down to 33% coolant with de-ionised water. (Temp here never reaches lower than -3)

Does this sound right to you?

cheers

Hey guys

thanks for your replies.

i think 50/50 is the way to go as waylander mentioned. I would presume the water makes no difference once there's no harmful minerals. Comma recommended deionised and I had some for topping up batteries for my other "children" (I actually think real children would be less demanding at times, lol)

now, to fix to leak first...

E
