Cooling fan hitting cowling

Afternoon all! I think my cooling fan is brushing the cowlin gin the botton left hand corner. I reinstalled a new alternator whilst in Germany last year. I can't remember how you adjust it at the moment. In fact, I thought it all bolted together and wasn't really adjustable. I haven't taken it apart yet to have a look, so anything to jog my memory would be helpful. Cheers

I think I have read that maybe the belt is adjusted far too tight. try moving a shim to slacken it until the problem goes away. If the belt is then too loose then you do have a problem. Maybe the bearings are too slack.
Another possibility is the strap that holds it all togther. Did you torque this up according to factory specs or did you guesstimate it ? [&:]
