Jayne. R10 has certainly done this for several years now. It's usually a very pleasant cross-country run (unless you get stuck behind a convoy of lorries...[8|]); the mince pies, coffee and biscuits are a welcome treat; and it is a chance to catch up with other PCGB members, spend a little in the Club shop and have a general nose around the stuff the Club has gathered over the years by way of memorabilia. [:)]

Unfortunately, I can't make it myself now my son's in a junior Sunday football league, but it's a great idea to try to get a group together for the trip. Suggest McDonalds' car park on A43 Towcester is a good starting point.

Have a good one.

We will be going, usually make our own way there but if there is an organised run we will join in.

This will be a great chance for us Caz and I to bring out our new Christmas Present!! [:D]

So you can count us in for sure, will be a great run, so long as the ROADS are ok!!

Looking forward to it already.

would love to come, currenlty have the day free. I'm only just up the road from towcester, in weedon.
Let me know when and where (although mcdonalds car park isnt exactly massive, so if you're overwhelmed, maybe we would need somewhere with a bit more space?)

I appear to be free that day, so weather permitting I might be able to make it. I seem to remember struggling to keep up with Mike in his Lexus last year, so I guess I must have gone via Towcester/A43. Just don't wave any mince pies at me - I hate the things!

It was suggested may be to meet at McDonalds' car park on A43 Towcester, I never been there so not to sure how big the car park is, does any one else have any good ideas where we could meet? or would this be ok?

We've used it for 5-6 years now for lots of event start. The A43 McD's is next to a large petrol station (Shell?), so if you had more than, say, 15 cars [8|] then you could easily spill out into that area. Probably cope with 30+ cars - and we don't get that many. That stop offers people a chance to fuel up, grab a coffee or a muffin and go to the loo before the run. You access it from the first roundabout you get to up the dual carriageway as you drive towards Oxford heading away from the Porsche Centre roundabout.

Thanks Mike that sounds like a great plan. I was wondering do you normally email the region as it would be great to get as many as we can to join us.... Cheers

Hi Jayne
Will try my best to be up for this,All depends how the works do goes the night before!![8D]

Andy,

If I were you, i'd drive to the work do, so you can be fit and ready for the Sunday drive, can't have you not being there.

Seriously though, would be great to see ya!!

Jayne et al, what time is the proposed meet at McD? just realised I have my parents stopping over the night before, so will need to boot them out in time to leave!

I was thinking it might be better if with all meet outside the gates at the Porsche Centre Silverstone as every one knows where this is. I understand Conbury house opens at 10.30am so if will want to get there for then it means an early start of 9am or we could leave say 10 - 10.30am. Open to you guys what time would you prfer to leave? lets go with the majority vote [:D] Hope you can still all make it.

Jayne,

Bear in mind that OPC Silverstone doesn't open until 10am on a Sunday so you can't get into the car park until they remove the bollards. If you get more than 6 cars you'll jam up the drive way or have to park on the road.

The MacDonalds in Towcester is a much better meeting place and has the benefit of a ready snack for those who arrive early.

If you are thinking of leaving Towcester as late as 10 don't even think about getting any mince pies!!! That greedy lot would have scoffed the lot before you get as far as Stow!!!

Regards

Dave

looks like i will have to make my way down later, as i now understand my parents are expecting lunch!
anyone know what time cornbury is open until?
