Cornbury House Xmas Open Day - Sunday 2 December

As advertised in this month's PPost, one of our members had volunteered to head up a drive-out to Club Office this Sunday - unfortunately, he is now somewhat indisposed having written-off his car (another car not his 911 [8|]).

Unless there's another volunteer willing to act as co-ordinator and guide, I suggest R10 members make their own way to Moreton-in-Marsh on Sunday (I'm planning to go but have a few family commitments preventing an early/reliable start time). Doors open around 10.30 am I believe - check PPost. There is also a bit of an informal "swap shop" for parts, etc, planned outside in the car park; so it might be worth getting there a bit earlier.

For those who have never been before, the Club lays on refreshments, including mince pies [:)], and there is a small but interesting archive and museum collection related to our favoutire marque. Club shop is usually open too. There is typically a good turnout, so its a very social meeting - you don't even need to go in your Porsche if the weather / roads put you off bringing out your pride and joy.

If enough members do congregate there in the morning, it might be worthwhile trying to find a pub in the area to get lunch together?

Just in case it doesn't appear on the forum I'll post it again here;

My Merc' is back with great looking refurbished wheels and new low profile tyres. They have done an excellent job and at £289 for four AMG alloys to be refurbished plus the tyres (and they were discounted at time of paying too), I would not hesitate to recommend them! I will be bringing the Merc' to Cornbury House on Sunday next for anyone wanting to take a look at their work.

Cheers

Sorry guys, I failed to get there on the day [8|][:(]. Hope it was a good day for those that went - despite the odd rain shower.

Anyone from R10 able to send me or Sue a report on how it went from your own perspective - we will try to include something in the Regional Report on the PPost (though probably the Feb edition as this month's is already due in)?

Hi Mike,

Only Paul Ebbs and my 'clan' that I saw from R10. [:(] VERY well attended by other regions despite the weather though. Not just mince pies and coffee but also sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, cheese and biscuits as well. Good to see so many Porsche had turned out. That said, we went in the Merc' to show off the refurb'd wheels to R10 members but to no avail.

Lunch at the Cross Hands pub on Chipping Norton road was a bit of a disaster though. will not be going back. [:mad:]Says under new management - but not for long I guess!

Cheers

Dave
