Correct Tyre Pressure?

Hello again chaps,

Could you advise me as to what the correct tyre pressure should be? The current tyres seem over inflated because the ride is quite hard and a little uncomfortable.

The standard wheel size os 16in front 6J with 205/55ZR & rear 8J with 225/50ZR tyres.

Many thanks.

Many thanks for the info.
I shall experiment with 29f and 32r and get back with feedback.

I tried lower pressures once as advised by a so called Porsche wheel expert company. I nearly put my car into the kerb. It felt as though the tyre was going to come off the rim when cornering. It felt fine for braking and pulling away. I am glad I used caution when attempting the first bend which was a roundabout...

I stick to 29F 36R cold.

If your tyres wear in the middle then the pressure is too high. I have never had this problem.

Different tyres feel different at different pressures, I assume that ( among many other variables) the stiffness of the sidewall differs.
I used to always run 1.8 and 2.3 Bar on Yokohamas but need the full factory pressures of 2.0 and 2.5 Bar on michelin Pilots.
So I don't think you can really recommend a set of pressures until we know what tyres you are on.
It may also be useful ( anorak on ) to check what the hot pressures are once you have run the car for a while as the individual set up of the car ( not to mention driving style ) will cause the tyres to heat up differently and therefore feel different.

I have never had any Yokohamas. Funnily enough they were Michelins when I was advised to use the lower pressures which IMO was very dangerous.
