Looks like salt corrosion
I thought that as well. The front studs were worse than the rear, however they were pretty bad as well...

Just wondering what you clean the wheels with?
Nothing out of the ordinary. That said, I've only owned this car for a few months...
"Always apply a thin coat of Optimoly TA (aluminium paste) on the thread of the wheel bolts, on the shank and between the bolt head bearing surface and spherical cap ring (under the head). Do not grease the spherical cap bearing surface of the wheel bolts that faces the wheel."
Interesting....thanks for that Richard.
In the past, I've normally used Copper Ease. Any idea why Porsche recommend an aluminium-based paste: are the steel studs aluminium coated? And, if they are, why are they corroding?
No doubt tubes of Optimoly TA are available at dealerships at a price greater than their mass equivalent in gold..!!

Ive got a few similar on my Turbo, told the wheel cleaner was to blame. Can I ask where you purchased the new ones, there seems to be many types and prices out there?
Ta,
Donald.
There is a good selection from Porscheshop.
