Corrosion on GT3 Speedline alloys

Hi, does anyone have any suggestions as to how best to treat/polish out corrosion that's started to appear on the rims of my wheels? My car's fitted with GT3 speedline alloys and the outer rim has started to corrode. I got the car last July and the wheels were fine then, it was first registered May 02 and the wheels were a factory fit option so have been on the car since new, however, after this winter it now looks like salt corrosion on the rim. Perhaps the previous owners never used the car in the winter but I use it several times a week in all weathers. I don't want to have to go to the expense and hassle of removing the wheels and sending them away to be completely refurbed so any advice as to anything that can be rubbed to a) remove the corrosion and b) prevent it happening in the future, would be great.
Thanks.
ps I'll post this in the GT3 area as well.

It's a really common issue on the Sport Design (GT3-type) alloys. Any patching up you do will be temporary, and the only way to det a decent result is to have them split and refurbished, which is expensive. My brother had the same problem as you, and he got an exchange set from Specialised Paintwork at Reading (behind the OPC). I can't recall the cost, but they had them in stock, and they swapped the tyres and did the changeover while he waited.
