Cost advice - new pads/discs

Car doing a 111 check at OPC, needs full set of new pads and discs as level below 111 check pass limit.

Quote is £2600 which I had not budgeted for right now. Considering looking at some Indies around London.

Anyone gone through this recently, what's a reasonable independent quote?

If you have the Porsche Extended Warranty Ravi you’ll need to have Porsche approved parts fitted, which RPM Technik always use, so the major saving will be in the labour cost (approx half?), and they offer a 10% discount on labour for PCGB members.

Other Porsche Independents often will fit cheaper OEM parts as a rule, but you can always request the fitment of Porsche approved parts.

Thanks waiting for quote from RPM and Jazz. OPC came back at £2300 best. There of course a spread to pay (OPC vs Indie) it just knowing what it is! Also factoring if I do it away from OPC sure they will make be pay again for the 111 check prior to getting the Warranty renewed (~£300)

We had a similar experience with our Macan a few years ago. In our case the car passed its MOT but failed the 111 check on brake wear all in the same visit!!! We decided to not extend the warranty and the discs/pads covered another 10,000 miles before needing replacement. Ironically, the discs & pads are not covered by the warranty they refuse to sell you anyway. Eventually, I bought the brake parts from the same OPC using the 10% club discount, then paid a local indy to fit them which ended up costing half the price the OPC quoted.

I agree, I would go Steve's route. Buy the parts direct from the PC and let a trusted Indy do the work. Asking a third party to source parts leaves it open to fit inferior kit and it's just not worth it with a 911.

However, if you have track days in mind, it you may care to consider upgrading the pads.

Regards,

Clive

Thanks, in the end went OPC route. RPM and Jazz were cheaper but only a few hundred in the end so wasn't worth the hassle or even financially if I had to redo the 111.
