Had my boxster s for a year now, bought with, 54k full Porsche history , one lady owner, 2001 tiptronic,
Replaced, alternator, wheel bearing, MAF sensor, AOS oil separator , ignition switch,
Consumables, set tyres, rear brake pads, oil, oil filter , fuel filter, brake fluid,
Had alternator changed at Porsche, expensive, poor service, never go back,
MAF sensor changed at JZ abbots Langley excellent service good value,
Everything else at local excellent garage,
Taken the car to Europe twice , and use it as a daily driver, I would recommend owning a boxster, and the horrendous stories about running a boxster are just not true, yes I think I started with basically a good car, and therefore keeping it going, is easier, but a bit of research on the Internet , some great insight from Richard Hamilton from this forum, you can save lots of money, I would highly recommend the AA breakdown cover, which allows £2500, of repairs over a year, (5x£500) mainly engine related, which gives you some piece of mind, so to sum up, avoid Porsche main stealers, don't be put off going to good competent mechanic, keep on top of relatively small replacement parts and replace when nessescery , drive the car hard, smile and enjoy,
