Cost of oil change

OK, I know I may have been able to save a bit by buying my own oil, but I was a little "surprised" at the bill for an oil/filter change - £210 (oil £81, filter £11, labour £119). I emphasise this was not for a service (done at the factory in April for around £70 but no oil change - long story), but just the oil/filter change.

How does this compare with UK prices (i.e. with VAT)?

My recent first 12,000 mile service cost me £331.22 inc vat of which £120.43 of that was Mobil 1 - strangely no mention of oil filter on the invoice parts list - however these items were:

Conditioner
Alum Sealing Ri
Pollen Filter
Screw
nut
Screen wash

I assume the Sealing Ri is for the oil drain but am a bit puzzled about the screw and nut!!!!
Regards
Dave

I just found out that porsches uses a litre of oil every 1000km !!! I cant believe it... I was told that as the thing is new that it may use a little bit of oil, just didn't think it would keep on using it...

anyway, just paid £28 something plus Vat at local OPC for 4 Litre Tub.

Maybe some do, I suppose its depends on how hard you press the pedal into the carpet. FWIW my 51K plus example has never used oil between services...except when the RMS leaked. Sorry, didn't mean to mention that b****y word again.
PS 5 Litres Mobil 1 in Costco £22 plus VAT

humph - I thought the point of ownership was to keep the right foot down as hard and as long as possible ;-) Is it a design feature?

Mine seems frugal. 3k miles on the clock and still on the original fill, no topups needed yet. Gauge and dipstick agree that the reservoir is half full.

I'm at 2.6k and have put half a litre in, which is around the guy at OPC's suggestion...Maybe it's me...I was very carefull for the first 2k then decided to see what happens on the other side of the rev counter...Kind of addicted to it now...
