Had temp sender unit replaced in Cayman £264 have I been fairly charged? I am told it is £20 for engine temp sender and O ring it clips out , and clips in the new one.Fault test , Labour to remove carpet behind seats and 6 screws to remove fire panel for access.top up any spilt anti freeze.( Labour 30 min job ?).The dealer gave an excellent service and lovely staff but friends think £80 job .!!

There are many sender units do you have the part number from the invoice? If so I can give you a better estimate of if they charged you a fair price for the part and labour.

My Cayman had an intermittant fault on the engine temp sender. When I had my car serviced at an independant Porsche specialist they charged me £10.86 for the sender and £20 for fitting it as they said it was easy to do whilst they had the covers off underneath. (+Vat) I was very happy with this and it's been perfect ever since. Martin
