It would be nice if the Boxster Register could get the award for the
best register turn-out this year.
The event starts and finishes at Cornbury House with bacon butties
and a hog roast at each respective end. The half way point is the
wonderful Cotswold Wildlife Park.
In between are just over one hundred miles (100) of prime Cotswold
roads which offer stunning vistas, cultural hotspots and some sublime
driving moments. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed as
each mile has been carefully selected by yours truly and meticulously
plotted by the co-pilot. The outward leg will get you warmed up for
the Park by getting you close to nature whilst the return leg is
composed mainly of A & B roads that will set you up nicely for the
roast at Cornbury.
If you fancy doing a bit more than turn up volunteers are required to
act as marshals. This will involve hanging around for a couple of
hours in the glorious early summer sun attempting to look intelligent
and alert in between bouts of flagging down less alert Porsche
drivers who seem intent on doing anything other than stopping to
receive their checkpoint stamp. It also requires the application of
diplomatic skills when dealing with members of other automobile and
motorcycle clubs who stray on to our patch.
In addition I need a volunteer to drive the route just prior to the
event to test the ' tulips' and ensure that the route is still open.
