Can members advise please?
First is noisy wipers with light / moderate rain they judder across the screen making a real racket. When rain is heavy they seem to settle down and behave as one would expect operating without undue noise. Have checked their condition and they are fitted correctly so don't really understand why this happens. Could it be a result of using glass treatments like Rain X?
Second problem is water on inside of side windows after heavy rain or a wash. This has been a problem since I bought the car (new) the dealership have inspected membranes and have never found the problem. Results in smeared windows and temperature depending condensation on windows which needs de misting before setting off. Would be nice if it could be dry inside like my wife's humble Kia Sportage!
Any help appreciated
Cheers

Re: Wipers - How old are the blades as older blades suffer more from the colder temperatures of the winter and get stiff.

Re: Moisture - You are not alone with this problem. Things to check 1. Any wetness under the seats. 2. Drains in the bottom of the doors. 3. Drains either side of the battery and the ones under the rear of the roof (a net curtain wire usefull for both of these, for the rear pair you will need to part open then roof).

There should be no wetness under the seats and all of the drains should be clear.

If you still have dampness it is possible that the roof may need treating with reproofing agent.

As an aid to keeping the moisture down turn on the A/C regularly.

Hi Nick thanks and in response:

Blades are 4+ years old you observation makes sense as I think it is worse in cold

Carpets are dry and all drains clear I check them regularly

Aircon is always on

Roof regularly reproofed by Adam at Revolution detailing and by me in interim

Water is only on inner surface of side windows dry the inner surface then wind down and back up and hey presto wet on inner surface if it's been raining hard the window seal along the top of door seems fine.

Cheers

There are pads in the door that designed to stop the windows rattling when there are down. If the door drains are clear then perhaps the water is from washing the car and it's been so wet recently they just haven't dried out.

Sure it could be that I suppose but again never happened with my wife's Suzuki over 7 years and it never happened with my Audi TT cab fact I would have to think back to my Morris 1100 circa 1974 for this sort of thing. Interestingly had exact same problem with my last Boxster! May be its a "feature" LOL.

I will stick some new wipers on and bother the guys at Solihull again re water.

Cheers

Nick
