Hi there,

How it works the courtesy car in the OPC's ? Im droppping my 911tt for a major service and I was quoted 2-3 days - for this amount of days, it hurts me to be without a car ( I drive it daily ) - can I request a courtesy car ? If so, what costs do incur ? Is a courtesy car usually available or subject to availability and/or customer history with the OPC ? Since it will be my first usage of a OPC, I wont problably qualify for a courtesy car no ? How it works ?

Cheers

I always have a courtesy car. Normally lead time is longer for booking in. Car is always a Porsche and free. Just need to cover £12 insurance cost for Chester OPC, sometimes the dealer will waiver this. Everything is a negotiation!

just ask! I've been provided with 3 Boxster Ss, a BMW 318d and a Merc 220CDi (the latter 2 only because I needed something with 4 seats and there was a hiccup with the Cayenne that had been offered on the day. Sometimes you are asked to put their car on your insurance but when this has happened it never cost anything.

was about to book mine into solihul OPC.

They have a Boxter or Cayenne. oh a BMW too as I recal.

I would want a "similar" car for sure if I am dropping in my pride and joy as it were.

If an OPC offered a Fiesta, etc it would be very very sad

Hi,

Always had a car, Boxster S, 997C2S, Cayman S and M5 BMW. My insurance company covers for the cars however on the last one which was for 3 days got stung £42 as I had not organised it.

Cheers Alan

No one has mentioned the excess on the premiums you take out through the OPC. On my last courtesy my OPC told me I was liable for a £1000 excess payment if I biffed it

[8|] Just booked mine in with Bournemouth OPC, they offered a 997 at a cost of £50 for the day, i.e. £35 plus £15 to reduce the policy excess from £5k to £250 or an Audi A3 for free? plus the £15 excess.
They used to offer a free Cayenne or Boxter until last year when they adopted this pricing policy, as I don't need the car they did offer to come and collect, but my wife fancies a shopping trip, we live in Titchfield, so the A3 will do.

I have been leant Many Boxsters and a Cayman last time, i sorted out the insurance which i did mot have to pay for just got a cover note, its no problem as long as the car i am being leant is not more powerful than mine.

I must say i do not expect a Porsche as a loan car but a, Merc, Audi, i would be fine with, however to get a Porsche is a nice bonus.

Phil
