Courtesy Light circuit problem

Cleaned up both door switches but the light between the sun visor still stays on with the doors closed (yes I know its a 3 position switch [8D]).
I notice that when the door switch operates, the window relay on the fuse board switches too; That the two are linked is confirmed by the circuit diagram. But why?
The light circuit must be earthing somewhere to stay on - anyone any ideas of the most likely cause?

I'd like to sort it so the light comes on as normal when the door opens - I have to leave it permanently off or it flattens the battery.
 
The windows will operate without the key in as long as a door is open - a simple thing that I wish more cars would have instead of complicated rules on how long the key has been out & whether the doors have been opened yet [;)]

Short could be in the boot struts if you can't find it elsewhere.
 
Thanks for that - hadn't thought of them . . . but then I haven't really got to grips with the circuit diagram yet . . .brain ache [&:]
