Crack appeared below Boxster headlight washer

Yes sorry, my pic didnt comply with size limit! Just uploaded it now. seems high up the bumper to be ‘caught’ and no other marks around 🧐

I agree.

Looks like something has been pushed hard against the point lower than the washer and its given way at its weakest point ie the washer hole.

Dan

Hello all,
a bit concerned that a crack has appeared on the front bumper directly below the headlight washer on my 2006 987 ??
It is now about 10cm wide and originally appeared smaller I think, a few days back during this really hot weather. Picture below, and wondered if anyone else has anyone experienced this?
There are no marks or stone chips anywhere near it….

Info. source ... 987 (2009 - 20012) model

(32) Retainer plate Headlight washer system

Is the washer nozzle `lower - pushed down` ?

Thanks for the reply, but only a tad, perhaps 1 or 2mm compared to the nearside....

Richard,

I’d agree with Dan’s comment. Unless it’s a reflection it looks as though there’s a vertical mark directly below the washer, to the left of the shadow … maybe a glancing blow from something?

The PU can be plastic welded, filled and perhaps refinished locally, otherwise you’re going to be into a very expensive replacement bumper.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, that was my only thought about a repair

There's another small area on the rear bumper that was bodged

by a previous owner, so it would make sense to have them done

at the same time
