Crackling From Radio

As anyone had this before ?

We have 996 (my02) Cab and when the radio is on we get crackling sounds coming out of the spakers.

Taken the car to the OPC and they have said it requires the Antana bosst to be changed, however it as now started happening when we are playing a CD ?

Radio is the CDR22.

Any advise would be welcome, also they say it is not covered by my extended warrenty

If you are getting interference when playing CD's I doubt if it is the aerial booster. Reading your later post about the warning light, do you think the two could be related? If the alternator was on the way out, it might be interfering. Just a thought.
