Creaking Dashboard

Had my Porsche 2002 (MY2003) 996TT for a couple of weeks now and the dashboard creaks constantly and is driving me mad - is this a common fault and is there an easy fix?

I have this problem, albeit far less than you seem to be experiencing. Mine seems to come and go depending on ambient temp. Not sure of the cure other than packing a strip of thin cardboard between the instrument cluster and the top of the dash board where it is creaking. Bit of a bodge i know, but just may help till you can get it booked in

Porsche did issue a nine page TSB on the dash squeaks and rattles, but this was for pre-2000 cars. It involved taking off all the vents, cluster, etc, and sticking felt strip and foam pads in the offending areas. Yours being later cars, that should have been done at the factory.

Getting it booked into local OPC to have them remedy it under warranty - it has had a new Bose amplifier fitted in the past according to past history which I beleive is under the dash???? could this have been the cause of it? will finid out soon I hope

Had creaking dash sorted!! turned out it wasnt the dash at all but the windscreen seal which goes hard with time and chaffes against the metal body - they did a fix pack from Porsche as the problem is well known (apparently) involves PTFE seal and tape - certainly sorted it out which is great as it was driving me nuts
