Creaking noise from passenger seat

I have a 981 Boxster S.

There is a creaking noise from the passenger seat which is very annoying. The noise does not occur when there is a passenger.

So, other than always driving with another person, any suggestions on how to fix the creaking? I have asked the OPC to do it several times and they haven't managed to reduce the noise.

Thanks in advance!

Funnily enough I started getting a creaking sound from the passenger side of my 981 which only occurred when the roof was down. I discovered it was the door card plastics moving against each other when I go over a bumps etc. And this was happening because you lose the extra rigidity you get with the roof up. I sprayed some silicone all over the offending areas which has reduced most of the creaking accept some coming from behind the door card itself. I have booked it in to an OPC to have the door card removed and the noise removed. Try pushing the door card in and out with your hand to see if it's making the sound your are hearing. Hope this helps. Thanks Chris.

Thanks. What is the "door card"? My creaking happens when the roof is up or down (but not when someone is in the passenger seat).

The plastic part of the inside of the door (Inner door skin if you like), mine was making a creaking/squeaking sound when I flexed it by pushing it in and out. The separate parts of the door (the section which houses the electric window switch for instance) were making this noise because they were rubbing against each other. Your sound maybe coming from somewhere else but it seems a bit of a coincidence that I'm getting a similar sound and I have definitely identified it as coming from there. The only other thing I can think of is to check all the rubbers within the roof mechanism and the door linings as they can dry out causing them to be noisy.

Is the seat all the way back against the body? I have found sometimes in my 986 that the seat rubs against the area right behind the head rest!!!!!

Unfortunately it isn't because the seat is all the way back and I don't think it's the door card...
