Creaking tailgate!

Is there a solution to curing my creaking tailgate[:mad:] It sounds like a grinding plastic together sound and if I open and slam the tailgate,the noise stops briefly but then returns.I have tried adjustment of the catch pegs but with no joy.
 
The quick but temporary cure is to rub some plastic and rubber lubricant into the seal. You can buy tins in Motor Factors for about a fiver - Holts mke a good one.

Ultimately a new tailgate seal is the answer. You will be surprised to see how flat and 'un springy' your old one is compared to the new
