Creaky hood mechanism

I've had my 986 Boxster S for a couple of years now, and I have to say I'm loving the great weather in it this year.

Unfortunately though, the soft top mechanism is making a reeeally loud creaking noise this year whenever you raise and lower the hood (like an old hinge that hasn't been lubricated). It happens in maybe the first 2/3rds of the movement when lowering and the last 2/3rds when raising.

I've had it properly serviced every year, and I've spent ages crawling all over the mechanism recently - everything looks to be in the right place and have lubrication where it's needed. I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar and if so how they solved it.

Any help greatly appreciated - it draws a little too much attention when out and about at the moment!

Cheers,

Gavin.

Mine "creaks" a bit too!!
I'd also be interested to find out what it is!
