Criminal damage !!!!

Just though I would share the following little story with you all.
Bank holiday weekend and the kids are off school for two weeks, wife takes kids to in-laws caravan first week in the family Picasso. I work first week but look forward to giving the Boxster a good run down to Abersoch and the excellent roads of North Wales.
To cut a long story short, I park next to a trailered boat and during the night someone has used my car as a step to get onto the boat causing scratch marks on the back wing and boot. I noticed the owner with a friend getting into the boat that night with a bottle of wine and on confronting him in the morning he denies all knowledge but says he allowed kids to play in the boat that night between 22.00 & 01.00hrs.
His son who was one of the kids playing in the boat said he would never stand on a Porsche but a Ford would be fair game, this drew no reaction from the father.
Rest assured that the necessary letters have been written and sent, but this seem typical of the attitude that currently prevails in this country today.

Any suggestions involving a drill and laying on my back under the boat have been thought of but would only lower myself to the same level as the S*** that caused the damage in the first place.

and the problem with that is......[;)]

I do know what you mean I deal with the public and I would say the last 5 years have seen a real turn around and it's set to get worse. Both my other half and I work with the public and we could write a book on the things that have happened. ( I may do this for fun when I retire ) Standards have droped and there is no respect any more... none.

I am not happy about it but this year was the first time I told a customer to F*** off as the level of abuse I got for something that was out of my control ( usual supplier letting me down ) was testing me to the limit and when I got even more pushed ( after I had arranged a replacement from a fellow Trader from his stock ) to keep her happy. So yes I got to their level and do you know what it feels good for a change.

I have some very large hole making drills.. just give me a call....

Like other posters though - I have noticed a deterioration in attitudes over the last few years. Something to do perhaps with the years when we were told to 'look after yourself....' and ' there is no such thing as society....'? We are reaping what was sown in my opinion.

Kids learn it from their parents, just imagine what the next generation is going to be like!!
If you show good manners nowadays people look at you as if you are stupid.

DILLIGAF

Cheers,

You don't want a drill you want one of these!

Perhaps you want to remove the spectacles [or something pronounced similarly] of the miscreats [8|].

B'Stards for causing criminal damage to your car. However, I don't suppose that any complaint to the police would result in either interest or investigation.

I suppose that you will have to put this 'sinking' feeling as one to put down to experience and get on with life.

Hi Hannu
Ooooh, that kind of behaviour MAKES ME MAD!![][][] (twitch and swivel of head Basil Fawlty style) especially when there is a lack of basic parental control from the lobotomised moron pretending to set an example to aforesaid spawn of hades.
I can empathise with 912UK as I too work with the public, and over the past 5 yrs or so have noticed an acceleration in lack of scruples, bad attitude and abuse from (thankfully) the minority of the public, but a growing percentage nevertheless sadly. I too was subjected to abuse, and eventually bit back - they were shown the door and told nicely to take their sh1te custom elsewhere and not to bother us again (and it DID feel good, funnily enough!).

I would propose a measured and thoughtful argument to put forward how you feel, and ask them how they would feel in your shoes, preferably while sat on a bean bag in a comfy cardigan.

Then I'd go and sink a few pints, get real and insert a nice half pint of urine and sugar in the boats motor. That way he'll know what it's like to take the p*ss, and GET IT BACK AGAIN.

Heh heh. Imagine the face when syphoning.............!![8D]

What goes around...............!!

Bit of a change of subject but when you go to Abersoch have you tried going over the top via Mold, Ruthin, Betsycoed then the A498 to Crickieth. Not recomended in a Picasso but FANTASTIC in a Boxster and will help you forget the Scrotes who have damaged your car.

Oooh! You must be a real gentleman. My daughter caught a drunken thug jumping on the roof of her tatty old Ford Fiesta thingy. She beat him senseless with a For Sale sign he had wrenched from next door's garden this whilst I tried to calm her .Shall I send her round?

Sounds like she's the type of women I need for a wife !. Unfortunately if I did that I would soon find myself out of a job and possibly sent down.
If I sent the name of the boat to you maybe she could place the "for sale sign" in a suitable place ?.

Yep tried that way many times, use to have an Impreza 4yrs ago but the wife wouldn't let me use its potential with the kids in. Great in the Boxster if you don't get behind a line of weekend Gipsy's.
There's also the one that passes BALA lake, very quick but has a habit of having the boys in blue somewhere along it. Near caught out once, just pulled out to overtake a van and noticed the Yellow jackets in the distance. Smiles all round as I passed them at bob on 60mph.

I don't know if anyone has experienced this before but the other week I returned to my car to find that some little 'shits' had gone into a supermarket, purchased 6 eggs and stood and thrown them at my car. The ones that hit the hood weren't too bad as when I got back I scrubbed it down but the ones that hit the paintwork have left circular eggshell chips in the paintwork. I have tried t-cutting it but to not much effect. If anybody catches any little 'shit' damaging their car please give me a ring as I will be round to help!

Have a word with your local police and insist that a crime report is made for criminal damage. If they refuse to do anything remind them of the fact that you pay for them and that it is their legal duty to prevent, investigate and detect crime.

You never know, perhaps they will catch someone who is prepared to admit damaging your car and then you can chase that person [or the parents if it is a young person] for the cost of repairs/re-painting etc.

If you do nothing, then they get away with it.

Your position differs from that of Hannu in that it is likely that the egg throwing, a craze that has died out in London, will continue until the police take some active measures [some hope, but you never know].

I would agree with you that this should be crimed however having inside knowledge this is what would happen :-
1, crime report submitted.
2, after many weeks a local office would be given report to investigate.
3, If his supervision deemed it not too time consuming officer would visit caravan site owner.
4, Officer if given time would try to trace all owners of caravans who were at the site that weekend, (bearing in mind these people could be anywhere in U.K.)
5, Officer would submit his findings (time constraints allowing) to the C.P.S. who would say due to the value and time delay and the fact that it would possibly be a juvenile, that its not in the public interest to proceed.

I have sent letters to the owner of the site and the boat pointing out the Heath and safety issues of children playing on boats late at night.
I have no doubt that the worry of heath and safety descending on the site and the financial implications of any possible fine or closure may well bring a quicker result.
