Croft circuit review needed !

Crofty is a great circuit. It has fast flowing sections, as well as the tightest hairpin in the UK after the twisty complex. The track itself has different types of tarmac, some smooth, some bumpy, so it is a good workout for your car & technical in nature to get the best lap times.

Run off areas are not that huge, but there's a good gravel trap at Clervaux, the only place to be wary is at Barcroft, where badly set up ( or possibly driven, can I say that ?) rear engined cars can end up going backwards into the barrier. Control through Barcroft is more important for lap time than ultimate speed as Sunny follows shortly afterwards & can be taken very quickly, or as a bit of a handfull if entry is too fast.

Summary - Croft is a very rewarding circuit when you get to know it, that's part of the attraction. (unlike say BH which is very easy to learn)

No can do........apparently I'm not a member.............and yes I know about the numpty procedure to become an online member, but there really is an easier solution that won't cost buckets of money (not even a pocketful). If someone wants to ask me I'll probably be at the AGM.

Shall I delete my comment above ?

Indeed it is - presumably on the basis that only members can attend PCGB trackdays..........and that no-one could be induced to become a member by the quality of the trackday commentaries or experience.

I too thought the process was pretty numpty in the 21st centruary, am pretty certain, from my experience, that minimal effort would be required to fix this problem. Can't see why an expensive solution would be needed to do a simple database lookup etc.

actually I didn't know that, I was under the impression that is was on the section called members only was for members only..... if this is the case then I will get that changed as Club Track Days are open to both members and non-members

regards

well that can be only changed by providing your input, so is what is written so far not very good ?

I think my input is fine for a few minutes work, but you asked me to post it into a section I cannot post to.............. so I offered to delete my comment as it was in the wrong place.

Your call Sundeep, good comment / wrong place, or no comment at all.

I'm easy either way, I just thought I would try to help by sharing my experience with the rest of the club. I'm just glad I didn't bother commenting on Knockhill (another regular of mine) or Donington.

I think I'm still missing something here, but all I was trying to do, was to bring together a wider range of track day circuits that the PCGB do not currently run days at, through the means of circuit reviews by forum users...

I appreciate that Sundeep. If I had made a comment on Knockhill or Donington I would have had three times the hassle, that's all I meant.

I was happy to do a Croft review, but can't post it in the place you would like me to. I can leave the post in this thread, or delete it. What I cannot do is repost it in the area you asked me to.

Nigel,

It is already posted here as the first reply in the thread.........and if I've been bothered to write it I at least want my ID & avatar to the left. The problem can be solved if the trackday forum was made open to 'non members'.

I feel a bit sorry for Sundeep, he's tried to encourage some valuable feedback for trackday novices & ended up with this hassle thread, and a bunch of comments on the Knockhill thread that he would prefer to have been posted elsewhere.

awesome track, lovely sweeping bends, count me in for the pcgb trackday if there will be one .....keith

Just to echo what sambaman said some real b*llsout corners and some technical stuff too count me in.
