Croft Motorshow October 21st

I had a call this week from a guy called Colin, his brother was killed by a drink driver.
The Air ambulance was used in the process of trying to safe his life so Colin is raising money for them.

At croft on Sunday October 21st it is the British motorcross championship finals and Croft have given Colin a large area near the paddock where he intends to have a motorshow of some 400+ cars so he is contacting all the car clubs to try and sort this, I naturally said we would be right on board so mentioned it at last nights meeting and everyone was willing to take part including the lads from Porsche who have now confirmed they are bringing a 997 Carrera 4S and a Cayenne Turbo from the Newcastle Porsche centre!

It is to be arranged as follows;

If you turn up in a car for the show you get in free including the occupants (its normally £10 per head for these races)
Cars will be on display and the public are going to be charged £2 (money going to the Air Ambulance) each to enter this area and view the cars, he is wanting the following types of vehicle;

Race, sports, vintage, classic, rally etc (no Max Power (good!!!!!))

Obviously we fit this bill quite well and he needs number of cars for the date.

There will be a marquee with tea and coffee on all day for us and of course you can watch the racing as well. The Air Ambulance will be there and if needed will take off from there and comeback etc.

The only slight fly in the ointment is he needs us all there by 9am!! So I have arranged for us all to meet at Scotch Corner as usual at 8.30am and go down in a group, it should be a really good day and probably the last event
of the season so please put a line on here if you want to join in as Colin needs numbers ASAP.

Thanks everyone

June and I will be there - see you all at Scotch Corner (if the alarm goes off ! )
I have mentioned it to my mate in the Morgan Club who is trying to get some interest from the 'old fellers' !!

Hi Nick
As discussed earlier, I'll be there. I'm sure I will have a passenger. If Pat can't make it, I'll bring someone else

This is great chaps thanks, went to a local VW meet yesterday and they were all interested in coming too, should be good, and an excellent cause [;)]

Hi Nick
How about the BMW owners who joined us at Raby. Do you think they would be interested??
Regards
Alan

Hi Nick
Heard the organiser of this event on BBC Radio Tees today. He now reckons on 600 cars on display, so it's turning out to be a big event!! The racing is Rallycross by the way, for anyone who doesn't already know.
Regards
Alan

Can I just check Nick, when you say "Scotch Corner as usual" am I right in thinking the meeting point is Scotch Corner services carpark?

Great day Nick, great turnout of cars and the weather couldn't have been better. [;)]

Didn't get chance to speak to many Porsche owners but thoroughly enjoyed browsing around the quality cars on display.

A thoroughly enjoyable day and a great cause.

Safe driving.
