Cruise Control Failure

[FONT=arial"]Hi, I have recently purchased my first Porsche which is a 996 C4, 1998 model with 87,000 miles with full Porsche service history.

I was originally worried about running cost and general maintance, but in all honesty i would not trade it for the world. The 996 C4 has met and exceeded my expectaions and i have no doubt that i will always have a 911 in my garage if costs and budget permit it.

I have had several mechanic's look at the reason behind the curise contorl not activating but all have ended with no joy.

I know there should be a green light that should appear on the dash board but no matter what i have tried i still have had no joy in diagnoising the fault.

Is there anyone out there that has faced a similar problem or would be kind enough to advise me moving forward ? ? ?

Ideally i would like to avoid the main dealers for advice, hence the huge bill they would give me just to say that they could not find the fault.

Your advise and extensive knowledge is hugely appricieated.

Kind Regards.

Vinny Chu

Vinny!

I know it sounds obvious, but the first thing to check is fuse B7. It could also be a faulty clutch switch or brake switch.
