Cruise control retrofit...

I know this has been posted before but I'm still struggling to get my head around what I'd need for this. Porsche want £425 which doesn't sound terrible but in the grand scheme of things, I've spent a fortune on this car already and would love to save some money if I can.

Can someone please simplify the process of fitting cruise to a 2003 Manual Boxster S? If you have any links, hints or tips that would be great :)

Thanks!

I've never known a Porsche Sentre in the UK to retrofit cruise on a 986/996, but indies do it. £425 is about right, as they need to provide a 4-lever stalk unit, make up a small wiring loom, and the labour.

If you want to DIY, it is fairly straightforward on a 2003 Boxster. You may be able to source a used 4-lever unit, but be careful because some are on eBay for a reason! You then need to run 3 wires from the cruise stalk to the instrument cluster, and one wire to the fuse panel. The system then has to be coded with a Porsche tester. You can get an indy to code it, or if you are anywhere near me I would be happy to do it for you.

If you want to tackle it, drop me an email (link below my avatar) and I'll reply with a DIY, parts list, and wiring diagram.

Thanks... That all sounds quite complicated as I wouldn't have a clue with wiring at all. Looks like I need to find someone local who can carry out the work, or go through porsche [8|]
