Crunching Automatic Gearbox

My Cayenne S has an automatic gearbox, which as normal, when cold pulls away in first gear. However, the first change from first to second is accompanied by a nice crunching sound accompanied with a vibration through the accelerator pedal.

Has anybody else experienced this?

My OPC has tried to fix it twice, unsuccesfully. They are now telling me it's normal. Are they right?

I'd really appreciate any help because my warranty will expire at the end of this month and then things could turn ugly.

Mine surges forward when cold and has been in 3 times and still not fixed so gave up.
However IT DOES NOT CRUNCH that sounds serious to a novice.I would be insistant on furthur investigation on that maybe you should also write, fax and E mail to Porche UK because that could be expensive to fix.
Perhaps Larry could assist if he is in town.

Thanks for the input. I have written to my OPC and Reading and I await a response. I'll keep you informed.

Definitely not had that problem. Suggest your firm with you OPC before the warranty expires. I know that they don't like to spend time (money) on a fault and not to resolve it. Look bad if northing else.
