While replacing the Idle Control Valve today, I had a look inside the manifold outlets and found a thick crust of oily carbon, which you can scrape off in chunks. Is this normal? And how do you get rid of it as I doubt it is doing anygood.
I had the head rebuilt a year ago, and that side of the inlet tracts is spotless (maybe optimax does something after all). I am assuming this mess is from the crankcase breather system, and would rather not concider the implications of abnormal oil/vapour blowing about. (I have already had the displeasure of a 16 000 rpm 400cc four stroke bike belching oil into filter box.... = $$$$$$$$$)
