Finally got round to getting that nice and straight CS rim I fortunately acquired from Germany for 200 euros refurbed and powder coated to replace the one I have with a ding on it. Shout out to Roy924GT for a lovely job! A perfect match for my other wheels.

Will fit it in the spring along with some new front rubber.

Cheers

Stuart

It looks really good - CS is a nice wheel. I recently bought some Cup copies with newish tyres as a temporary fix - my D90s are in decent shape but need a refresh and although the tyres look like new, they are ancient.

Thanks. My front rubber still looks and feels good with plenty tread, but noticed they are stamped 2015, so probably best replacing on grounds of age. Been on the car about 4 years and I remember they were a bargain price at tyre place when they done my Roadforce wheel balancing, and a front Toyo was far from round when it came off! Clearly that was because they had been on the shelf for about 3 years!! Anyway, they've done a job.

I wouldn't touch Toyo's of Falkens again. Both the Falkens I fitted on my Mrs Fiesta ST had large splits on the inner sidewalls before they were half worn. After a fight, Falken replaced both of them. And the Toyo's on my daughters Zetec S were soft as 5h1t, one developed a large egg on the sidewall, and another split after hitting a medium pothole at 15 mph.

The problem is lack of availability for 245/45/16. To be fair to Toyo, I've ran them for years and only had that one issue. They are soft, with a soft sidewall, but for the money the grip is good in the dry and decent in the wet.

No dog in this fight now, but I wouldn't fit soft sidewalls on a 944 turbo, if I intended to lean on them pretty hard. I did some research on the Toyos, and it seemed they were a good budget tyre years ago. But something seemed to have changed, and they got cheap.

Well, the rears are the pre-change Toyo's, 18 stamped I think, still with plenty meat on them, so they should do a couple more years.

The fronts I'm changing due to date and there is plenty choice for 225/50/16 so I'll have a good old browse over the winter before deciding.

Ha Ha! Just picked up my refurbed wheel, looks as good as the picture. Will be CS'ing for a bit yet.........

The good news is, it shouldn't cost much to sell the 16's switch to 17's. The CS and Cup wheels are both silly money now.
